Abstract
Description
Coincidence composition, method for producing an organic glass using the composition, and organic glass The present invention relates to a polymerizable composition suitably used for producing a photochromic cured product having excellent photochromic action. Photochromism is a reversible action in which when a certain compound is irradiated with light containing ultraviolet rays such as sunlight or the light of a mercury lamp, the color changes rapidly, and when the light irradiation is stopped and the compound is placed in a dark place, it returns to its original color, and it is applied to various uses. For example, photochromism is also applied in the field of spectacle lenses, and a plastic lens having photochromic properties is obtained by curing a polymerizable monomer added with various photochromic compounds having the above properties. As photochromic compounds, fulgimide compounds, spirooxazine compounds, chromene compounds, etc. that can be suitably used for such applications have been found. A photochromic spectacle is a spectacle that functions as sunglasses with the lens rapidly coloring outdoors when irradiated with light containing ultraviolet rays such as sunlight, and functions as a normal transparent spectacle with fading indoors without such light irradiation, and its demand has been increasing in recent years. Regarding photochromic spectacle lenses, those made of plastic are particularly preferred from the viewpoints of lightness and safety, and the impartation of photochromic properties to such plastic lenses is generally carried out by compounding with an organic photochromic compound. As the compounding method, a method of impregnating the surface of a lens having no photochromic property with a photochromic compound (hereinafter referred to as an impregnation method), or a method of dissolving a photochromic compound in a monomer and polymerizing it to directly obtain a photochromic lens (hereinafter referred to as a kneading method) is known. Regarding the techniques of these impregnation methods (see Patent Documents 1 to 3) and the techniques of the kneading method (see Patent Documents 4 to 5), various techniques have been proposed. U.S. Patent No. 5,739,243, U.S. Patent No. 5,973,093, International Publication No. WO 95 / 10790 Pamphlet, Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. JP-A-5-306392, Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. JP-A-8-320534, Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. JP-A-7-2938, Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. JP-A-2009-19157, Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. JP-A-2004-78052, International Publication No. WO 2009 / 146509 Pamphlet, International Publication No. WO 2010 / 20770 Pamphlet, International Publication No. WO 2012 / 149599 Pamphlet, International Publication No. WO 2012 / 162725 Pamphlet These photochromic compounds and the plastic having photochromic properties containing them generally exhibit excellent photochromic properties. However, in order to use these photochromic composites for various applications, particularly for photochromic spectacle lenses, it is required not only to exhibit a good photochromic effect, but also to be manufacturable simply and inexpensively, and to have excellent mechanical or optical physical properties as a photochromic spectacle lens. When using the photochromic plastic exemplified by the above impregnation method for spectacle applications, since a base material is separately prepared and the obtained base material is impregnated with a photochromic compound, not only is the manufacturing method complicated, but also in order to improve the impregnation property, it is necessary to lower the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the base material. As a result, the flexibility of the base material becomes too high, and as a result, new problems such as a decrease in the hardness of the base material, a decrease in heat resistance, and a large amount of optical distortion occur. In addition, in Patent Documents 4 and 5 exemplified by the above kneading method, since a highly reactive di(meth)acrylate-based radical polymerizable monomer is used, it is difficult to control the polymerization, and a photochromic spectacle lens without distortion can be produced only by using a polymerization oven capable of strict temperature control at a temperature of 35°C or lower. There was room for improvement in that special equipment was required for moldability and that it could not be manufactured inexpensively because a special acrylate-based material was used. In addition, various attempts have been made to manufacture photochromic spectacle lenses by a kneading method using diethylene glycol bisallyl carbonate (hereinafter sometimes abbreviated as 'CR-39' in common parlance), which is a cured product having a refractive index of 1.50 and is used as a general-purpose material for spectacle lenses, as a radically polymerizable monomer. However, since the monomer has low reactivity, when polymerized in the coexistence of diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate (hereinafter sometimes abbreviated as 'IPP' in common parlance), which has a high oxidizing action, with a photochromic compound, IPP oxidizes the photochromic compound, and thus there is a problem that a photochromic spectacle lens exhibiting sufficient photochromic properties has not been obtained. Therefore, the present inventors have intensively studied a polymerizable composition in which a specific photochromic compound is mixed with a polymerizable monomer and polymerized, and a photochromic cured product typified by a photochromic spectacle lens can be inexpensively and easily manufactured by a kneading method. As a result, in the application of spectacle lenses, diethylene glycol bisallyl carbonate and / or its oligomer, which is used as a general-purpose and inexpensive material in the low refractive index market, and diallyl phthalate and / or its oligomer, which is used as a general-purpose and inexpensive material in the medium refractive index market, a specific photochromic dye, and a radical polymerization initiator are included. It has been found that a photochromic polymerizable composition can produce a photochromic cured product with good yield using equipment that does not require strict temperature control, and the photochromic properties of the obtained photochromic cured product are superior to those of conventional ones, leading to the completion of the present invention. According to the combination of a predetermined polymerization initiator (B) and a predetermined photochromic compound (C) in the polymerizable composition of the present invention, the decomposition of the photochromic compound (C) by the polymerization initiator (B) is suppressed. Therefore, the polymerization initiator (B) and the photochromic compound (C) can coexist in the polymerizable composition, and a cured product having excellent photochromic properties and further excellent hue can be obtained in an inexpensive and simple manner by the kneading method. In the present invention, when the blending ratio of the photochromic compound of component (C) is too high, aggregation of the photochromic compound occurs and the durability rapidly decreases. Therefore, with respect to 100 parts by weight of the compound (A) containing two or more allyloxycarbonyl groups, the photochromic compound (C) is usually used in the range of 0.001 to 5 parts by weight, preferably 0.01 to 1 part by weight, more preferably 0.01 to 0.5 part by weight, and the best photochromic performance can be obtained within this range. In the polymerizable composition of the present invention, various stabilizers and additives such as a release agent, an ultraviolet absorber, an infrared absorber, an ultraviolet stabilizer, an antioxidant, an anti-coloring agent, an antistatic agent, a fluorescent dye, a dye, a pigment, and a fragrance can be mixed and used as necessary. As the ultraviolet absorber, benzophenone-based ultraviolet absorbers, benzotriazole-based ultraviolet absorbers, triazine-based ultraviolet absorbers, malonic ester-based ultraviolet absorbers, and oxanilide-based ultraviolet absorbers can be preferably used. While this ultraviolet absorber improves the durability of the photochromic compound, it inhibits the color development of the photochromic compound by ultraviolet rays. Since the ultraviolet absorption region varies depending on the type of the ultraviolet absorber, it cannot be generally limited, but usually, the blending amount of each ultraviolet absorber is preferably in the range of 0.001 to 5 parts by weight, more preferably 0.01 to 1 part by weight, with respect to 100 parts by weight of the radical polymerizable compound. The polymerization method for obtaining a cured body from the polymerizable composition of the present invention is not particularly limited, and a known radical polymerization method can be adopted. Exemplifying a typical polymerization method, the polymerizable composition of the present invention mixed with a radical polymerization initiator is injected between molds held by an adhesive tape or an elastomer gasket or a spacer, oxidized in an air furnace, and then removed, and casting polymerization is adopted. Furthermore, the photochromic cured body obtained by the above method can also be processed as follows according to its use. That is, dyeing using dyes such as disperse dyes, hard coat agents mainly composed of sols of silane coupling agents and silicon, zirconium, antimony, aluminum, tin, tungsten, etc., or antireflection treatment by vapor deposition of thin films of metal oxides such as SiO2, TiO2, ZrO2 or coating of thin films of organic polymers, antistatic treatment, etc. It is also possible to perform processing and secondary treatment such as. The photochromic cured body (organic glass) obtained by polymerizing and curing the polymerizable composition of the present invention is composed of the above (A) radically polymerizable compound, (B) radical polymerization initiator, and (C) photochromic compound, so that the production becomes easy. In addition, while exhibiting excellent photochromic properties, the refractive index at a wavelength of 20 ° C. and 589.3 nm can be in the range of 1.49 to 1.57, and it can be used for various optical materials. In particular, it can be suitably used as a lens or a polarizing lens. [Lens] The lens made of the organic glass of the present embodiment may be used with a coating layer provided on one side or both sides as necessary. It can be preferably used as an eyeglass lens. Specific examples of the coating layer include a primer layer, a hard coat layer, an antireflection layer, an antifogging coat layer, an antifouling layer, a water repellent layer, and the like. These coating layers can be used alone or in combination of a plurality of coating layers in a multilayer structure. When coating layers are provided on both sides, the same coating layer or different coating layers may be provided on each side. Each of these coating layers may be used in combination with an infrared absorber for the purpose of protecting the eyes from infrared rays, a light stabilizer or an antioxidant for the purpose of improving the weather resistance of the lens, a photochromic compound, a dye or a pigment for the purpose of enhancing the fashionability of the lens, an antistatic agent, and other known additives for enhancing the performance of the lens. Regarding the layer to be coated by coating, various leveling agents for the purpose of improving coatability may be used. The primer layer is usually formed between the hard coat layer and the lens described later. The primer layer is a coating layer aimed at improving the adhesion between the hard coat layer formed thereon and the lens, and in some cases, it is also possible to improve the impact resistance. Any material can be used for the primer layer as long as it has high adhesion to the obtained lens. Usually, a primer composition mainly composed of a urethane resin, an epoxy resin, a polyester resin, a melanin resin, polyvinyl acetal, etc. is used. The primer composition may use an appropriate solvent that does not affect the lens for the purpose of adjusting the viscosity of the composition. Of course, it may be used without a solvent. The primer layer can be formed by either a coating method or a dry method. When using the coating method, after applying the primer composition to the lens by a known coating method such as spin coating or dip coating, the primer layer is formed by solidifying it. When using the dry method, it is formed by a known dry method such as CVD method or vacuum evaporation method. When forming the primer layer, for the purpose of improving adhesion, the surface of the lens may be pretreated, such as alkali treatment, plasma treatment, ultraviolet treatment, etc., if necessary. The hard coat layer is a coating layer aimed at imparting functions such as scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, moisture resistance, hot water resistance, heat resistance, and weather resistance to the lens surface. The hard coat layer generally uses a hard coat composition containing one or more oxide fine particles of an element selected from the element group of Si, Al, Sn, Sb, Ta, Ce, La, Fe, Zn, W, Zr, In, and Ti and / or one or more fine particles composed of a composite oxide of two or more elements selected from these element groups, which is an organosilicon compound having curability. The hard coat composition preferably contains at least one of amines, amino acids, metal acetylacetonate complexes, metal organic salts, perchloric acids, salts of perchloric acids, acids, metal chlorides, and polyfunctional epoxy compounds in addition to the above components. The hard coat composition may use an appropriate solvent that does not affect the lens, or may be used without a solvent. The hard coat layer is usually formed by applying a hard coat composition by a known coating method such as spin coating or dip coating and then curing it. Examples of the curing method include heat curing and curing by irradiation with energy rays such as ultraviolet rays and visible light. In order to suppress the generation of interference fringes, the refractive index of the hard coat layer preferably has a difference in refractive index from that of the lens in the range of ±0.1. The antireflection layer is usually formed on the hard coat layer as necessary. The antireflection layer includes inorganic and organic types. In the case of the inorganic type, inorganic oxides such as SiO 2 , TiO 2 are used and formed by a dry method such as vacuum evaporation, sputtering, ion plating, ion beam assist method, CVD method, etc. In the case of the organic type, a composition containing an organosilicon compound and silica-based fine particles having internal cavities is used and formed wetly. The antireflection layer can be single-layer or multi-layer. When used as a single layer, the refractive index is preferably at least 0.1 or more lower than that of the hard coat layer. In order to effectively exhibit the antireflection function, it is preferably a multi-layer antireflection film. In that case, a low refractive index film and a high refractive index film are alternately laminated. Also in this case, the refractive index difference between the low refractive index film and the high refractive index film is preferably 0.1 or more. Examples of the high refractive index film include films such as ZnO, TiO 2 , CeO 2 , Sb 2 O 5 , SnO 2 , ZrO 2 , Ta 2 O 5 . Examples of the low refractive index film include SiO 2 film. On the antireflection layer, an antifogging layer, an antifouling layer, and a water-repellent layer may be formed as needed. As methods for forming the antifogging layer, the antifouling layer, and the water-repellent layer, as long as they do not have an adverse effect on the antireflection function, the treatment methods, treatment materials, etc. are not particularly limited, and known antifogging treatment methods, antifouling treatment methods, water-repellent treatment methods, and materials can be used. For example, in the antifogging treatment method and the antifouling treatment method, there are methods of covering the surface with a surfactant, adding a hydrophilic film to the surface to make it water-absorbent, covering the surface with fine irregularities to enhance water absorption, using photocatalytic activity to make it water-absorbent, and performing superhydrophobic treatment to prevent water droplets from adhering. In addition, in the water-repellent treatment method, there are methods of forming a water-repellent treatment layer by vapor deposition or sputtering of a fluorine-containing silane compound, etc., and methods of dissolving a fluorine-containing silane compound in a solvent and then coating to form a water-repellent treatment layer. [Polarizing lens] The polarizing lens of the present embodiment includes a polarizing film and a base material layer made of organic glass formed on at least one surface of the polarizing film. The polarizing film in the present embodiment can be composed of a thermoplastic resin. Examples of the thermoplastic polyester include polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene naphthalate, and polybutylene terephthalate, etc., and polyethylene terephthalate is more preferred from the viewpoints of water resistance, heat resistance, and moldability. Specific examples of the polarizing film include a dichroic dye-containing thermoplastic polyester polarizing film, an iodine-containing polyvinyl alcohol polarizing film, a dichroic dye-containing polyvinyl alcohol polarizing film, etc. The polarizing film may be used after being heat-treated for drying and stabilization. Furthermore, in order to improve the adhesion with the acrylic resin, the polarizing film may be used after performing one or more pretreatment selected from primer coating treatment, chemical treatment (chemical liquid treatment such as gas or alkali), corona discharge treatment, plasma treatment, ultraviolet irradiation treatment, electron beam irradiation treatment, roughening treatment, flame treatment, etc. Among such pretreatment, one or more selected from primer coating treatment, chemical treatment, corona discharge treatment, and plasma treatment are particularly preferable. The polarizing lens of the present embodiment can be obtained by providing a base material layer made of an organic glass obtained by curing the polymerizable composition of the present embodiment on at least one surface of such a polarizing film. The manufacturing method of the plastic polarizing lens is not particularly limited, but preferably the casting polymerization method can be mentioned. The manufacturing method of the plastic polarizing lens of the present embodiment is, for example, a step of fixing the polarizing film in a lens casting mold in a state separated from the mold, a step of injecting the polymerizable composition into at least one of the voids formed between the polarizing film and the mold, a step of polymerizing and curing the polymerizable composition to laminate a base material layer on at least one surface of the polarizing film, and can include. The lens casting mold is generally composed of two substantially disk-shaped glass molds held by a gasket. In the space of this lens casting mold, the polarizing film is installed so that the film surface is parallel to the inner surface of the front mold facing each other. A void is formed between the polarizing film and the mold. The polarizing film may be pre-shaped. The polymerization conditions of the polymerizable composition vary depending on the composition of the polymerizable composition, the type and amount of the catalyst, the shape of the mold, etc., but are carried out at a temperature of 5 to 140 ° C. over 1 to 50 hours. In some cases, it is preferable to hold or gradually raise the temperature in the temperature range of 5 to 130 ° C. and cure it in 1 to 25 hours. The laminate cured by polymerization can be released from the mold to obtain the polarizing lens of the present embodiment. In this embodiment, the laminate after polymerization and release may be subjected to heat treatment such as annealing as necessary. From the viewpoint of the effects of the present invention, the treatment temperature is carried out between 90 and 150°C, preferably between 110 and 130°C, and more preferably between 115 and 125°C. From the viewpoint of the effects of the present invention, the treatment time is in the range of 1 to 10 hours, preferably 2 to 5 hours. In addition, the same coating layer as that of the lens may be formed on the surface of the obtained base material layer. Hereinafter, the present invention will be described with reference to Examples and Comparative Examples, but the present invention is not limited to these Examples. Examples 1 to 9, Comparative Examples 1 to 6 The (A) radically polymerizable compound, (C) photochromic compound, and other additive components shown in Examples 1 to 9 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6 in Table 1 were sufficiently mixed at 70°C. This mixed solution was cooled to room temperature, and (B) a radical polymerization initiator was added and mixed at room temperature until homogenized. These blending ratios are shown in Table 1. The mixed solution containing this photochromic compound was poured into a mold in which the outer peripheries of two disk-shaped glass plates were wound with adhesive tape, and cast polymerization was carried out. The polymerization was carried out using an air furnace, and the temperature was gradually increased for polymerization. After the polymerization was completed, the mold was removed from the air furnace, allowed to cool, and the cured body was removed from the glass mold of the mold. The resin yellowness and photochromic properties of the obtained photochromic cured body were tested by the following methods. The results are shown in Table 2. (2) Resin yellowness (YI) The YI of the obtained photochromic cured body (thickness 2 mm) was measured with a spectrophotometer CM-5 manufactured by Konica Minolta. (3) Photochromic properties Light transmittance at 550 nm after color development: Using a light source device (illuminance 50000 lx) of a MC-2563 xenon lamp (180 W) manufactured by Otsuka Electronics Co., Ltd., the spectrum when the obtained photochromic cured body (thickness 2 mm) was colored at 23°C for 5 minutes was measured with an MCPD-7700 transmission measurement system. The photochromic performance was evaluated by the pre-color development transmittance, the post-color development transmittance, and the change amount of the transmittance before and after color development. Since the maximum absorption wavelength (λmax) at the time of color development varies depending on the photochromic compound, the photochromic performance was evaluated based on the transmittance at λmax. The lower the transmittance after color development, the higher the light-shielding property during color development, and the greater the change in transmittance before and after color development, the higher the concentration difference before and after color development, indicating high photochromic performance. (4) Using an Abbe refractometer manufactured by Atago Co., Ltd., the refractive index of the cured product at 20 °C with a wavelength of 589.3 nm was measured. All the cured products of Examples 1 to 7 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6 had a refractive index of 1.500 ± 0.002, and the cured products of Examples 8 and 9 had a refractive index of 1.550 ± 0.002.
