Claims

1. The inverter control device controls the drive of the vehicle's traction motor. At the time the vehicle starts moving driven by the traction motor, the control device processes the control to set the inverter carrier wave frequency to a low frequency within the audible range. Conversely, at the time the vehicle stops moving, the control device processes the control to set the carrier wave frequency to a higher frequency than the low frequency.

2. The control device, according to claim 1, in the inverter, where the duration of a state is determined based on the carrier wave frequency, is a state where the traction motor shaft does not rotate even when power is transmitted to the traction motor. The duration is negatively correlated with the carrier wave frequency, and the low frequency is set in such a way that the duration becomes equal to or longer than the period from the start of power transmission to the traction motor until the traction motor shaft rotates. 3.

1. A control device under claim 1 in which, at the time the vehicle begins to move, the control device processes data to determine whether to initiate control processing to set the carrier frequency to a low frequency, based on the vehicle's inertial mass.

4. A control device under claim 3 in which the control device uses the road surface gradient when the vehicle is stopped as a determining index for initiating control processing to set the carrier frequency to a low frequency.

5. A control device under claim 3 in which the control device uses the weight of the vehicle as a determining index for initiating control processing to set the carrier frequency to a low frequency.

6. A control device under claim 4 in which, when the control processing to set the carrier frequency to a low frequency is performed, the control device changes the carrier frequency in steps based on a determining index. 7.A control device under claim 1 where, when the brake force retainer is engaged, the brake force retainer applies braking force to the vehicle during the period from the collapse of the accelerator pedal until a predetermined retaining period has elapsed; the control device notifies the brake force retainer that the traction motor has an output torque corresponding to the vehicle's inertial mass, and this signal is used for control processing to release the brake force retainer before the predetermined retaining period has elapsed;
