Abstract
OCR A battery management device installed in a vehicle is designed to manage a number of battery packs connected in parallel. This battery management device includes an acquisition section designed to obtain battery pack information representing the charge level and voltage from each battery pack; a selection section designed to choose which battery packs to charge or discharge from among the battery packs based on this information; and a control section designed to charge batteries in charge mode and discharge batteries in discharge mode. When the mode is switched from charge to discharge mode, the control section manages how the charged battery is used as if it were being discharged.
