Claims

OCR07AP1. An energy storage device installed in a mobile body, an energy storage device comprising a number of first cells in which the first active material of thickness within the first range is applied between the current collector and the separator, and a number of second cells in which the second active material of thickness within the second range, with a lower limit greater than the upper limit of the first range, is applied between the current collector and the separator, where the first and second cells are arranged alternately at a predetermined interval.

An energy storage device according to claim 1 comprising an additional condition acquisition unit that acquires condition information indicating the condition of the mobile body, the first charge condition of a number of first cells, and the second charge condition of a number of second cells, and a power control unit that controls (i) the charging of a number of first and second cells and (ii) the power supply to the mobile body's drive based on at least one of the condition information, the first charge condition, or the second charge condition.

An energy storage device according to claim 2,Where, under the condition that the acquisition unit obtains the condition information indicating the pedal speed at which the accelerator pedal of the moving vehicle is pressed, the power control unit causes a number of first cells to supply power to the drive source when the pedal speed exceeds a predetermined speed and causes a number of second cells to supply power to the drive source when the pedal speed is equal to or less than the predetermined speed; 4. An energy storage device under claim 2 or 3, where the power control unit causes a number of first cells to supply power to the drive source corresponding to the pedal speed when the acquisition unit obtains the condition information indicating the pedal speed at which the accelerator pedal of the moving vehicle is pressed and the condition of the second charge is equal to or less than the initial first charge; 5. An energy storage device under any of claims 2 through 4,Where, under the condition that the acquisition unit has not yet obtained the condition information indicating the condition of the regenerative brake of the moving body, the control unit will charge a certain amount of the first cell with the electrical power generated by the regenerative brake when the condition of the first charge is less than the second starting value, and charge a certain amount of the second cell with the electrical power when the condition of the first charge is equal to or greater than the second starting value.

An energy storage device under any of Claims 2 through 5, where, under the condition that the acquisition unit has not yet obtained the condition information indicating the condition of the moving body accelerator pedal being depressed or the condition of the regenerative brake of the moving body being operated, the control unit will charge a certain amount of the first cell by supplying a certain amount of electrical power from the second cell to the first cell.

An energy storage device under Claim 6,Where the power control unit charges a certain number of first cells by supplying power from a certain number of second cells to a certain number of first cells until the second charge rate drops to a predetermined charge rate when the first charge rate is less than the second trigger value.

8. An energy storage device under one of the claims 2 through 7, where the power control unit causes a certain number of second cells to supply power to the drive source at the maximum discharge value of a certain number of second cells when the first charge condition is equal to or less than the first trigger value, even when the throttle speed of the mobile device in the condition exceeds the predetermined speed.

9. An integrated energy storage system consisting of: an energy storage device which includes a lithium-ion battery and is installed in the mobile device and an energy storage controller that controls the charging and discharging of the energy storage device.Where the energy storage device consists of a number of first cells in which active material of thickness within the first range is applied between the current collector and the separator, and a number of second cells in which active material of thickness within the second range, with a lower limit greater than the upper limit of the first range, is applied between the current collector and the separator, where the first and second cells are arranged alternately at a predetermined interval, and the energy storage control device consists of a condition acquisition unit that acquires condition information indicating the mobile device's condition, the first charge condition of a number of first cells, and the second charge condition of a number of second cells, and a power control unit that controls (i) the charging of a number of first and second cells and (ii) the power supply to the mobile device's drive based on at least one of the condition information, the first charge condition, or the second charge condition;
