Abstract
Decorative lamps are made primarily from woven bamboo strips. The weaving process uses readily available local bamboo, which is split into strips and dyed with natural colors. These strips are then woven into various beautiful products. Bamboo and rattan cores are used for the internal structure. The base of the lamp is designed using rattan or bamboo pith, while the top is woven with bamboo strips to create various patterns. For lamps larger than a rice container, a mold is necessary to create a template for shaping the lamp, ensuring strength and consistent proportions. The pattern is woven horizontally first, flattened, then folded and woven according to the template. A template is then placed on top to continue the weaving process until the finished product is complete. The pattern used for the top of the lamp is typically a lotus flower design.
