Abstract

------01 / 04 / 2569------(OCR) OCR 09WP This document describes a process for producing conjugated linoleic acid from high-linoleic vegetable oils using the superbase-media isomerization method. A catalyst mixture of hydroxide base and dimethyl sulfoxide is reacted with a polyhydric alcohol solvent mixture of vegetable oil. The reaction is stirred, stopped, and the solution is adjusted to an acidic state before washing with warm water. This yields conjugated linoleic acid from high-linoleic vegetable oils.

Claims

------01 / 04 / 2569------(OCR) OCR 09WP1. The process for producing conjugated linoleic acid from high-linoleic vegetable oils involves the following steps: a. Mix hydroxide base and dimethyl sulfoxide at a ratio of 0.2:1 to 0.7:

1. b. Mix polyhydric alcohol solvent with vegetable oil at a ratio of 0.35:1 to 2:1 by weight. c. React the mixtures obtained in steps a and b at a temperature of 120 to 180 degrees Celsius, stirring at a speed of 250 rpm for 3-30 minutes. d. Upon completion of the reaction, adjust the solution to an acidic state with a pH of 3 or lower using hydrochloric, sulfuric, or phosphoric acid solutions. e. Separate the liquid portion, which is conjugated linoleic acid, wash with warm water three times, and remove the water by centrifugation.

2. The process for producing conjugated linoleic acid from high-linoleic vegetable oils. Under Claim 1, which states that vegetable oils can be selected from sunflower oil, safflower oil, soybean oil, grapeseed oil, pumpkin seed oil, melon seed oil, watermelon seed oil, and passion fruit seed oil3.A process for the production of conjugated linoleic acid from high linoleic vegetable oils under Patent 1 or 2, where the base hydroxide can be selected from potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide. A process for the production of conjugated linoleic acid from high linoleic vegetable oils under any one of Patents 1-3, where the polyhydric alcohol solvent can be selected from glycerol, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol.
