Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for formulating a bio-inoculant based on PGPR, beneficial soil bacteria that colonize the rhizosphere of plants and improve their growth. More specifically, the present method relates to a newly isolated bacterium, Bacillus mojavensis strain Gb7 (GenBank accession number: ON495983), which exhibits soil fertilizer properties, antagonism against fungal phytopathogens, and salt stress mitigation. The present invention describes the preparation of a bacterial suspension from Bacillus mojavensis strain Gb7 and its use as a bio-inoculant in a mixture with semolina as an encapsulation support based on wheat gluten and kaolin as an inert inorganic re-entrant agent. The process described according to the invention presents a simple and economical strategy for developing a biological biofertilizer / biopesticide from a selected, competent PGPR strain, Bacillus mojavensis strain Gb7. Keywords: PGPR - biofertilizer - bioinoculant - Bacillus mojavensis - bioformulation
