Abstract
An environmentally friendly process for functionalizing cotton-based or other fiber textile materials using natural, environmentally sound waxes. According to the invention, functional compounds such as rosemary wax and beeswax, alone or in a binary mixture, are used as waterproofing agents. The developed process involves preparing a paste containing 5 g / L of waterproofing agent. Various application techniques can be used, including scraping with a flat frame and aluminum squeegee, spraying with a gun; and wiping, using a machine with an impregnation bath and a two-cylinder wringing system to remove excess preparation. After the paste is applied, the textile is dried for 2 minutes at 100°C, then polymerized for 5 minutes at 120°C, thus ensuring an irreversible bond of the resin to the textile support.
