Abstract
The invention is an energy-saving multi-socket power strip that automatically cuts off the current drawn from the mains by electronic devices when they are in standby mode for a desired period of time. The current drawn by the electronic devices connected to the multi-socket power strip, which receives its power from the mains via the plug (1) and cable (2), is measured by the current sensor ACS712 (9) and sent to the A0 analog pin of the Arduino Nano (7), which receives its power from the 5V adapter (8). With the program we wrote, when the devices remain in standby mode for 10 minutes (the time can be adjusted as desired within the program), the power of the relay (10) connected in series with the circuit is cut off, and the power of the sockets (5) is automatically cut off. In this way, an energy saving equal to the energy consumed by the electronic devices in standby mode will be achieved. Until the sockets are energized again, the electronic devices will not consume any energy, thus saving energy. The sockets will be energized by pressing the button (4) on them, causing the red LED (3) to light up.The amount of energy saved in a year is equivalent to a house's monthly electricity bill. In addition, there is a continuous power outlet (6) in the power strip for devices that need to operate continuously (internet modem, security camera, etc.).
