Abstract

The invention relates to a system and method for monitoring time (SPI) and cost (CPI) performance indicators obtained from Earned Value Analysis (EVA) in project management using Hotelling T² multivariate control charts, and for identifying out-of-control situations in the process. Specifically, the invention is based on the use of the Mason-Young-Tracey (MYT) decomposition method to determine the variable causing the out-of-control situation; processing this data with an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model to identify the source of the out-of-control situation with high accuracy; and optimizing the model using Box-Behnken or central composite experimental design. By analyzing the results it obtains, the system provides an early warning and decision support mechanism, enabling timely intervention for project managers and ensuring effective monitoring of project performance in terms of time and cost.
