Abstract
The invention is an internally heated racing tire designed for use in motorsport vehicles, as well as military and security vehicles. In motorsport, racing vehicles need their tires to be at a specific temperature to achieve optimal performance. Vehicles racing with tires that have not reached sufficient temperature encounter problems such as poor track grip, going off the track, crashing and being forced out of the race, and decreased braking performance. Nowadays, these drawbacks are overcome by covering racing tires with heating blankets or by attempting to heat them up through a process called tire burning, where the tires rub against the track surface by spinning their wheels. Internally heated tires eliminate all these problems. Thanks to heat sensors, vehicles can measure the internal tire temperature and, using a heating wire mesh inside the tire, raise the temperature to the optimal level for best performance. Even if racing cars have to slow down due to accidents or encounter cooling weather conditions such as rain and wind, they will be able to maintain their tire temperature. Especially in drag racing, there will be no need for tire burning (heating by rubbing) to warm the tires, thus preventing tire wear and ensuring long-lasting use.
