Abstract

This invention relates to a self-porous ceramic filter system developed for use in brewing coffee and similar beverages. The invention comprises the ceramic filter body (1), the top opening / coffee loading opening (2), the internal brewing volume (3), the self-porous filter wall (4), the inner surface (5), the outer surface (6), the bottom closed or tapered end region (7), the filter pores (8), the surface form / rib / organic texture variation (9), and the edge / rim region (10). The essential feature of the invention is that, without the need for an additional paper filter, metal filter, fabric filter, or separate filtration element, the passage of liquid coffee is allowed and coffee particles are retained thanks to the filter pores (8) within the self-porous filter wall (4). Thus, the ceramic filter body (1) acts not only as a carrier structure but also as an active filter element that performs direct filtration. The invention reduces the need for single-use filters thanks to its reusable structure, providing ease of use and sustainability. Furthermore, the system allows for coffee brewing to be carried out with a single-piece filter body thanks to its controlled porous ceramic structure. The invention also encompasses the production method of this self-porous ceramic filter system, which involves mixing food-contact-safe ceramic raw materials with pore-forming components, shaping, drying, and firing to create a porous structure and thus obtaining a ceramic filter body capable of filtration.
