Abstract

This invention relates to a mechanism that enables the automatic centering and stabilization of cookware with flat glass-ceramic surfaces used on electric or induction cooktops during cooking. Within the scope of this invention, the position of the cooking vessel is determined and the centering process is performed using a segmented fixing structure positioned around the cooking zone, movable barrier elements, actuators, and a radial movement mechanism. Data obtained from vessel sensing, weight sensing, and / or position sensing units are evaluated by a control system, activating the initial contact segments and guiding the cooking vessel towards the geometric center of the cooking zone. After the centering process is complete, counter-locking segments are engaged, creating a circumferential mechanical locking structure around the cooking vessel. Thanks to this invention, the cooking vessel is prevented from sliding, rotating, or moving off-center on flat-surface cooktops; safety during use, cooking stability, and energy transfer efficiency are increased. Furthermore, the segmented structure can be concealed under the cooktop surface when not in use, preserving the flat surface of the cooktop. In these respects, the invention offers an integrated mechanical centering and locking system that senses, centers, and circumferentially secures the cooking vessel.
