Abstract
The invention relates to a manhole cover with a spring-loaded hydraulic flap and automatic locking mechanism that enables the controlled release of sudden hydraulic pressure increases occurring in infrastructure systems. Within the scope of the invention, the hydraulic pressure generated in the manhole is detected via a hydraulic pressure chamber and pressure distribution structures and transmitted to the spring-loaded hydraulic flap. This hydraulic pressure is converted into mechanical movement, allowing the main body of the cover to be opened in a controlled manner. Following the controlled release of the hydraulic pressure, the main body of the cover automatically returns to its initial position via a mechanical return mechanism and is securely locked again by the automatic locking mechanism. The invention also includes auxiliary mechanical devices that enable controlled direction of gate movement, equalization of hydraulic pressure, removal of foreign matter from the system, ensuring leak-tightness, and additional water drainage in case of flooding. Thus, the invention offers a reliable, easy-to-maintain, and long-lasting manhole cover system that operates entirely on mechanical principles without the need for an external energy source. It opens only under controlled conditions at predetermined hydraulic pressure levels, automatically returns to its initial position and relocks after safely releasing the hydraulic pressure, reducing the risk of flooding and helping to prevent damage to infrastructure elements.
