Abstract
The invention relates to a multi-sensor fault monitoring system for detecting fuse operation and environmental or mechanical events arising from field conditions at network branching points, fused disconnectors / branch points, and transition points between medium and low voltage lines on medium-voltage overhead lines. The system transmits the detected data to a remote monitoring infrastructure and supports the field device's energy needs with current transformer-based energy harvesting. Within the scope of the invention, information regarding the presence or absence of line current is obtained through energy harvesting via the current transformer, and this information is made usable by combining it with physical information obtained from the electromechanical detection of the fuse pin. This provides a monitoring structure that reduces the risk of false or incomplete alarms due to reliance on a single detection channel.
