Abstract

The invention relates to a fault monitoring system and method for correlating sensor data from multiple field devices mounted at fused disconnectors / branch points and medium-voltage-low-voltage transition points on medium-voltage overhead lines, based on their location information; correlating data from different devices regarding the same physical event to create a single group alarm; and operating the field devices in a battery-supported manner by harvesting energy from the line via a current transformer.
