CROSS-MOVEMENT DOUBLE SLIDING DOCUMENT CASSETTE LOCK

Abstract

This invention relates to a document security container that mechanically verifies the fully seated position of a removable document cassette within the container body. The system comprises the container body, the removable document cassette, the first and second cam surfaces located at the two diagonal corners of the cassette, the first linear slide, the second linear slide, the first through-opening, the second through-opening, a common locking axis, and a final locking pin. When the removable document cassette is seated within the container body, the first cam surface moves the first linear slide in the first direction, and the second cam surface moves the second linear slide in the opposite direction. When the two linear slides reach their final positions, the first and second through-openings are aligned on the common locking axis. The final locking pin advances through the two aligned through-openings to reach the final locking position.When one of the cross-corner regions of the cassette does not reach its full seated position, one of the transition openings remains outside the common locking axis, mechanically preventing the final locking pin from advancing to its final locking position.
