Abstract
Description
[Technical Field] This technology relates to methods for transmitting and receiving signals, and in particular to methods and devices for transmitting and receiving signals that can ensure good communication quality, for example, in data transmission using LDPC codes. [Previous Technology] LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) code has a high error correction capability and has been widely used in recent years in digital broadcasting transmission methods such as DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting)-S.2, DVB-T.2, DVB-C.2 in Europe and ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) 3.0 in the United States (see Non-Patent Literature 1). According to recent research, LDPC codes, like turbine codes, have shown that their performance approaches the Schrödinger limit with increasing code length. Furthermore, LDPC codes possess the property that the minimum distance is proportional to the code length, resulting in excellent block error probability characteristics and almost eliminating the so-called error flattening phenomenon observed in the decoding characteristics of turbine codes. This is also one of their advantages. [Previous Art Documents] [Non-Patent Documents] [Non-Patent Document 1] ATSC Standard: Physical Layer Protocol (A / 322), 7 September 2016 [Summary of the Invention] [The problem that the invention aims to solve] In data transmission that uses LDPC codes, for example, LDPC codes are treated as symbols (symbolized) of quadrature modulation (digital modulation) such as QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying), and these symbols are mapped to the signal points of the quadrature modulation and transmitted. As data transmission using LDPC codes, as described above, has gradually expanded worldwide, there is a growing demand to ensure good communication (transmission) quality. This technology was developed in view of this situation, with the aim of ensuring good communication quality in data transmission using LDPC codes.
