Ultraviolet irradiation apparatus with integral thermal transfer element

Abstract

An irradiation apparatus having an interior irradiation reactor and a UV-LED emitting source configure to emit UV light through an opening in a lower wall of the irradiation chamber, a first liquid port and a second liquid port for liquid flow into and out of the irradiation reactor. A first connection port connects to either a liquid supply source or a liquid usage device, and consists of a metal tubing with an outer sidewall with a flattened portion along its length. The flattened portion of the outer sidewall of the metal tubing provides a thermal contact surface that when placed into confronting contact with a heat-emitting surface of the UV-LED source provides a heatsink for the heat generated by the UV-LED source.
