Glass article with adhesive layer configured for delamination of glass substrate in response to headform impact

Abstract

Disclosed are embodiments of a glass article. The glass article includes a glass substrate having a first major surface and a second major surface. The second major surface is opposite to the first major surface. The glass article also includes a frame with a frame surface and an adhesive structure disposed between the glass substrate and the frame that bonds the glass substrate to the frame. After impact with a headform according to FMVSS 201, the glass substrate at least partially delaminates from the adhesive structure and the glass substrate does not break across the first major surface or the second major surface.
