A plate heat exchanger with varying flank inclinations

Abstract

A plate heat exchanger comprising a plurality of first and second heat exchanger plates having port openings and a pattern of ridges and grooves providing contact points between adjacent heat exchanger plates under formation of interplate flow channels for fluids to exchange heat. Each of the ridges has a top portion and each of the grooves has a bottom portion extending in a longitudinal direction of the ridges and grooves, wherein said top and bottom portions are connected through opposite first and second flanks extending along the ridges and grooves. An inclination of the first flank of at least some of the ridges and grooves differs from an inclination of the second flank thereof. The inclination of said first flank varies along the ridges and grooves, and / or between different ridges and grooves.
