Abstract

This invention provides a method for safely manufacturing hydrogenated diamond nanoparticles with a positive zeta potential. The method comprises the following steps: diamond particles with a zeta potential below +30 mV in water at pH 5-8 are subjected to a hydrogenation treatment step at a temperature of 300-850°C in a gaseous environment with a hydrogen concentration below 1%, thereby obtaining hydrogenated diamond nanoparticles with a zeta potential above +35 mV in water at pH 5-8. Preferably, the hydrogen concentration in the aforementioned gaseous environment is 0.01% or higher and below 1%, and preferably, the gaseous environment contains both hydrogen and nitrogen. none
