Abstract

This invention provides a peptide that binds to the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2 as the optimal salt form for anti-SARS-CoV-2 peptide pharmaceuticals. The invention relates to a sodium or potassium salt of a peptide having a first region comprising a first helix and a second region comprising a second helix in the direction from the N-terminus to the C-terminus. The first and second regions contain a binding site for the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2. A bond is formed between an amino acid residue within five residues from the N-terminus of the binding site in the first region and an amino acid residue within five residues from the C-terminus of the binding site in the second region. The sodium or potassium salt of the peptide binds to the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2.
