Abstract

A street parking self-service billing system is disclosed. It includes a user management module, a parking management module, a parking payment module, a parking duration confirmation module and a map information providing module. The present invention uses the parking management module to obtain the data of parking vehicles and parking spaces, and further calculates the parking time. The parking payment module pays the parking fee on behalf of the user, and the parking duration confirmation module can confirm whether the actual parking duration is longer than the record on file in the parking management system. If a certain parking duration exceeds a reasonable range, users of this system will receive a notification and can confirm it and appeal to the management unit.

Claims

1. A roadside parking self-service billing system, built in a server host, connected via a network to a plurality of parking space management servers and a plurality of mobile communication devices, comprising: a parking management module, which starts timing after receiving a parking confirmation message from one of the mobile communication devices in operation, stops timing after receiving a departure confirmation message from the mobile communication device in operation, and calculates a parking duration, wherein the parking confirmation message includes a parking license plate number and location information about a parking space; A parking payment module, connected to the parking management module, upon receiving the confirmed departure message, uses the location data to determine the parking space's management unit and its associated parking space fee management server. It then retrieves a parking payment slip corresponding to the license plate number from the parking space fee management server. The parking period on the payment slip overlaps with a predefined parking period from the start time to the end time of the timer. Based on the payment amount on the payment slip, it notifies a financial payment provider to transfer the payment amount from the payment account to a parking fee collection account designated by the management unit, and sends a payment notification to the mobile communication device. A parking duration confirmation module performs the following operations: determining whether the parking period exceeds the designated parking duration; and if the parking period exceeds the designated parking duration and exceeds a reasonable time, sending a parking overtime notification to the mobile communication device.

The roadside parking self-service billing system as described in claim 1, wherein the location data includes the parking space location coordinates, the address of the nearest building on the street where the parking space is located, or the street segment number where the parking space is located.

The roadside parking self-service billing system as described in claim 1, wherein the server host is further connected to a map information server and includes a map data providing module, the map data providing module receives a local location coordinate from any mobile communication device, dynamically obtains a plurality of map files surrounding the local location coordinate from the map information server according to the local location coordinate, dynamically obtains the location data of the parking spaces currently not used by a vehicle from the parking space management server belonging to the management unit of the parking lot where the local location coordinate is located, marks an open parking sign and a vehicle sign respectively at the location data and the local location coordinate in the map files, and forms a map data combination of the marked map files, which is then sent to the mobile communication device that issued the local location coordinate for display.

The roadside parking self-service billing system as described in claim 1, wherein the server host is further connected to a map information server and includes a map data providing module, the map data providing module receives a local location coordinate from any mobile communication device, dynamically obtains a plurality of map files surrounding the local location coordinate from the map information server according to the local location coordinate, and forms a map data combination of the marked map files, which is then sent to the mobile communication device that issued the local location coordinate for display.

The roadside parking self-service billing system as described in claim 3 or 4, wherein the mobile communication devices are equipped with a mobile application software to receive and display information from the parking payment module, the parking duration confirmation module and the map data provision module, and to send the parking confirmation message and the departure confirmation message to the parking management module.

6. The roadside parking self-service billing system as described in claim 1, wherein the mobile communication device is a smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, or in-vehicle communication computer.

The roadside parking self-service billing system as described in claim 1 further includes a user management module for managing user registration with a user account and password, and allowing users to log in using one of the mobile communication devices with the registered user account, wherein each user account is bound to at least one license plate number.

The roadside parking self-service billing system as described in claim 7, wherein the parking payment module periodically checks the parking space management server for any unpaid parking bills for license plate numbers belonging to the logged-in user account; if any are found, an unpaid notification is sent to the mobile communication device logged in with the user account bound to the corresponding license plate number.

9. The roadside parking self-service billing system as described in claim 1, wherein the payment notification includes the location information, the parking license plate number, the parking date, the parking payment slip number, and the payment amount.
