Abstract

This invention provides a crystal oscillator with a frequency of 32 MHz and AT-cut. The crystal oscillator can be housed in a package with a long side dimension of about 1.0 mm and a short side dimension of about 0.8 mm in terms of outer diameter, and has a novel structure. The crystal oscillator (10) includes: a vibrating part (10a); and a peripheral part (10b) with a thickness thinner than the vibrating part. Moreover, when the dimension of the crystal oscillator along the X-axis of the crystal is expressed as (Lx), the dimension of the crystal oscillator along the Z' axis of the crystal is expressed as (Lz), the dimension of the vibrating part along the X-axis of the crystal is expressed as (MSx), and the dimension of the vibrating part along the Z' axis of the crystal is expressed as (MSz), (Lx) is in the range of 720 μm to 736 μm, (Lz) is in the range of 536 μm to 552 μm, (MSx) is in the range of 440 μm to 460 μm, and (MSz) is in the range of 438 μm to 480 μm.
