A biodegradable filter plug for a tobacco article

Abstract

This article discloses a biodegradable filter rod (50) for tobacco products, comprising a first filter material including: a first layer of cellulose-based material and a second layer of cellulose-based material (11, 12); and a flavor element (14) positioned between the first and second layers, wherein the first and second layers are compressed together around the flavor element to hold it in place. Optionally, the filter rod may include a first filter material (10) and a second filter material (20), wherein the first filter material includes the first and second cellulose-based materials, and the flavor element and the second filter material include cellulose-based materials, and wherein the first and second filter materials are rolled up and / or folded together within the filter rod. Disclosed herein is a biodegradable filter plug (50) for a tobacco article, comprising a first filter material comprising: first and second layers (11, 12) of cellulose-based material; and a flavour element (14) positioned between the first and second layers, wherein the first and second layers are compressed together around the flavour element to secure the flavour element in position. Optionally, the filter plug comprises a first filter material (10) and a second filter material (20), wherein the first filter material comprises the first and second layers of cellulose-based material and the flavour element and the second filter material comprises a cellulose-based material, and wherein the first and second filter materials are rolled and / or folded together in the filter plug.
