Rolling bag and rolling support assembly therefor

Abstract

A roller bag (B) is described, comprising a collapsible container body (10) made of an assembly of fabric panels joined together to form at least one bottom surface (15) and a side wall (11-14) comprising four sides (11, 12, 13, 14), which together define an internal storage volume when the collapsible container body (10) is in an unfolded state. The roller bag (B) further includes a removable roller support assembly (S) for providing roller support for the collapsible container body (10) in the unfolded state, the roller support assembly (S) including a support plate (P) and a plurality of casters (W) disposed on the bottom surface of the support plate (P). Each caster (W) includes a snap-in caster assembly (100) including a swivel (100A) extending at least partially through one of the thicknesses of the support plate (P), and the support plate (P) including a plurality of support inserts (200), each support insert (200) configured to engage with the swivel (100A) of a corresponding snap-in caster assembly (100) and to automatically lock the swivel onto the support plate (P) during assembly. Each support insert (200) includes a mounting hole (200A) shaped and sized to receive and lock the swivel (100A) within the mounting hole (200A). There is described a rolling bag (B) comprising a collapsible container body (10) made of an assembly of fabric panels that are joined together to form at least a bottom side (15) and a sidewall (11-14) including four lateral sides (11, 12, 13, 14) that jointly define an inner storage volume when the collapsible container body (10) takes an expanded state. The rolling bag (B) further comprises a removable rolling support assembly (S) to provide rolling support for the collapsible container body (10) in the expanded state, the rolling support assembly (S) including a support plate (P) and a plurality of caster wheels (W) provided on an underside of the support plate (P).Each caster wheel (W) includes a click-in caster wheel assembly (100) comprising a swivel axis (100A) extending at least partly through a thickness of the support plate (P), and the support plate (P) includes a plurality of supporting inserts (200) that are each configured to cooperate with the swivel axis (100A) of a corresponding one of the click-in caster wheel assemblies (100) and cause it to automatically latch onto the support plate (P) during assembly. Each supporting insert (200) comprises a mounting aperture (200A) shaped and dimensioned to receive the swivel axis (100A) and cause latching of the swivel axis (100A) inside the mounting aperture (200A).
