Anti-pinch device for electric beds

Abstract

This invention relates to an anti-pinch device for an electric bed, comprising a bed frame, at least one actuator, a plurality of infrared sensors, and a control unit. The bed frame includes a base, at least one fixed unit disposed above the base, and at least one movable unit pivotally connected to the fixed unit and located above the base. One end of the actuator is disposed on the fixed unit or the base, and the other end is disposed on the movable unit, capable of driving the movable unit to rotate or move relative to the fixed unit. The infrared sensors are disposed on the fixed unit, the base, or the movable unit, and the sensing area includes the area below the movable unit; the plurality of infrared sensors are connected in series. The control unit is electrically connected to the actuator and the infrared sensors. When any infrared sensor senses the body temperature of a person or animal, the control unit controls the actuator to stop or reverse its movement, causing the movable unit to stop moving or rotate or move upward. Therefore, the anti-pinch device of this invention can effectively prevent injury to personnel or other animals during operation of the electric bed.
