Golf club head with filled cavity and chamber with pneumatic insert

Abstract

A fastback iron-type golf club head includes a badge disposed in a cavity and a pneumatic insert disposed in a chamber. The cavity and chamber cooperate to define a rear void of the club. The badge disposed in a cavity contacts the strike face rear surface, and interacts with a seat that circumscribes a rear opening to substantially seal the rear opening. The pneumatic insert damps vibrations and reinforces the strike face. This combination improves sound and feel, preserves discretionary mass, and maintains face deflection and ball speed.
