Abstract

The tool changing device includes a tool magazine, a loading and unloading device, and a control device. The control device has a load acquisition unit that acquires the load of the drive mechanism at a predetermined time point, and a quality estimation unit that estimates the quality of either the first tool or the second tool based on the load acquired by the load acquisition unit. The predetermined time point is at least one of the following time points: the time point after one of the holding members receives the second tool from the tool magazine and before the other holding member receives the first tool from the spindle; the time point after one of the holding members delivers the second tool to the spindle and before the other holding member delivers the first tool to the tool magazine; the time point after one of the holding members receives the first tool from the spindle and before the other holding member receives the second tool from the tool magazine; and the time point after one of the holding members delivers the first tool to the tool magazine and before the other holding member delivers the second tool to the spindle.
