Abstract

A vehicle safety assistance system and method for automatically adjusting driving assistance behavior is provided. In this method, a circumstance recognizer is applied to generate a recognition result in accordance with surroundings of the vehicle, a processor is applied to receive the recognition result and select one of several safety parameter sets as a vehicle setting parameter set in accordance with the received recognition result. Finally, the driving assistance behavior is generated and provided by a driving assistance procedure which is set in accordance with the vehicle setting parameter set by the processor.
