Abstract

A control method for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is provided, which enables the UAV carrying heavy cargo to ascend rapidly and perform stable attitude control. This invention relates to a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) UAV, wherein the UAV has multiple propellers driven by an engine, and the pitch angle (θ) of each propeller can be individually set. During throttle control of the aircraft, the control method increases or decreases the engine speed by increasing or decreasing the throttle opening, thereby increasing or decreasing the speed of each propeller. During attitude control of the aircraft, the pitch angle (θ) of each propeller used to generate lift is set larger when the engine speed is low and smaller when the engine speed is high.
