Electronic transport device for carrying item container in fulfillment center and method for transporting item container using electronic transport device

Abstract

According to one embodiment, an electronic handling device for moving a container of goods in a fulfillment center is provided, comprising: a drive unit; a power supply module; at least one electromagnet disposed on the upper surface of the electronic handling device and attached to the container of goods; a transceiver; a plurality of scanners configured to scan code symbols; and a processor; wherein the processor controls the drive unit, the power supply module, the at least one electromagnet, the transceiver, and the plurality of scanners such that the electronic handling device: if it receives a handling request signal from a server via the transceiver, it moves to a first position corresponding to a first position information included in the handling request signal; it uses at least one electromagnet to engage with the lower surface of the container of goods located at the first position; and it moves to a second position to which the container of goods needs to be moved. According to another embodiment, a method for moving a container of goods in a fulfillment center using an electronic handling device is also provided. According to yet another embodiment, a container of goods moved by an electronic handling device is also provided.
