Aqueous dispersions of polyurethane and water-based coatings

Abstract

The objective of this invention is to improve the adhesion and UV resistance of coatings to resins. An embodiment of the polyurethane aqueous dispersion is formed by dispersing a polyurethane resin (A) containing a polyester polyol as a constituent in an aqueous dispersion medium, and further comprising a compound (B) containing a carbodiimide group and a compound (C) having two groups represented by the following general formula (1) in one molecule. The polyurethane resin (A) has a carboxyl group. In formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, R2 represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and * represents a bond.
