Abstract
The present invention provides engineered organisms that can deliver iron-sulfur clusters to enzymes expressed in the same organism. The enzymes can be native or non-native to the organism. The engineered organisms comprises one or more non-native iron-sulfur cluster producing systems. Also provided herein are engineered organisms that can express various heterologous polypeptides or deliver iron-sulfur clusters to the heterologous polypeptides.
