Abstract

This invention provides a method for manufacturing steel plates and an apparatus for manufacturing steel plates that can suppress temperature unevenness caused by alloy oxides. The method uses a steel billet containing, by mass percent: 0.2-3.0% Si and 1.0-4.0% Mn. The method includes: a descaling step, in which water with a total energy density of 0.20-1.50 J / mm² is sprayed onto a slab formed by hot rolling of the aforementioned steel billet to remove the oxide film formed on the surface of the slab; a rolling step, in which the slab after the descaling step is rolled; a cooling step, in which cooling is performed using cooling water until the surface temperature of the steel plate reaches 500°C or below; and an iron oxide formation step, in which iron oxides are formed on the surface of the steel plate formed by rolling the aforementioned slab during the period from the end of the descaling step to the start of the cooling step.
