Abstract

This invention relates to a separator in an electrolysis unit that uses water contained in a conductive fluid to produce hydrogen, and comprises a plate-shaped body. The body includes: an electrolysis region disposed at the center of a first surface of the body; a manifold formed on the outer periphery of the first surface surrounding the central surface and extending through the body; and a flow path connecting the electrolysis region to the manifold. The flow path includes a tunnel portion that connects to the inner periphery of the manifold within the body.
