Comparative evaluation methods, eyeglass lens design methods, and comparative evaluation devices

Abstract

The contrast evaluation method for spectacle lenses of the present invention comprises: acquiring an eyeball model made based on a spectacle lens prescription and a contrast binocular summation model representing the contrast recognized by binocular vision; acquiring coordinate information of multiple index points set in a three-dimensional space with the center points of the corneal apex of the left eye and the corneal apex of the right eye of the eyeball model as references; calculating a left-eye contrast value and a right-eye contrast value for each index point based on the eyeball model and the coordinate information of the index points, and by ray tracing from the index point through the spectacle lens to the retina of the eyeball model; and calculating a binocular summation contrast value for each index point based on the calculated left-eye contrast value and right-eye contrast value and the contrast binocular summation model.
