Abstract

A method for manufacturing cathode particles coated with ceramic particles using a dry one-step sintering process includes the following steps: placing a nickel-cobalt-manganese precursor, a lithium source, and an LLZO (lithium lanthanum zirconium oxide) precursor into a mixer for mixing to form a precursor mixture; then placing the precursor mixture into a sintering furnace for aerobic sintering to obtain sintered powder formed by multiple cathode particles; wherein the lithium source melts and decomposes into lithium oxide in the aerobic sintering, and the lithium oxide reacts with the nickel-cobalt-manganese precursor and the LLZO precursor to form multiple NCM (lithium nickel cobalt-manganese oxide) particles and multiple LLZO particles; the multiple LLZO particles coat the outer surface of each NCM particle, forming the multiple cathode particles as a whole.
