Abstract
A method for directly manufacturing cathode particles having a continuous layer of ceramic particles and a glass phase from a precursor includes the following steps: grinding a nickel source, a manganese source, a cobalt source, and a dispersion to form a nickel-cobalt-manganese mixed slurry; then spray-drying and sintering the nickel-cobalt-manganese mixed slurry to form a nickel-cobalt-manganese precursor; then mixing and grinding a lithium source, a glass phase precursor, an LLZO precursor, and a dispersion to form a first precursor slurry; then mixing the nickel-cobalt-manganese precursor and the dispersion and mixing them with the first precursor slurry to form a third precursor slurry; then drying the third precursor slurry to obtain precursor powder; and then sintering the precursor powder in an oxygen-induced environment to form multiple nickel-cobalt-manganese particles and multiple LLZO particles, wherein the glass phase precursor forms a glass phase layer covering the outer surface of each nickel-cobalt-manganese particle, and the multiple LLZO particles are distributed on the outer surface of each glass phase layer, thus forming the multiple cathode particles.
