Power supply for portable electronic device

Abstract

A power supply for a portable electronic device having a computer system is provided. The power supply has a power input end, a power supply end, a first switching element, a battery, a second switching element, a super capacitor, and a control unit. The power input end is for electrically connecting an adaptor to receive an output power. The power supply end is electrically connected to the power input end for supplying power to the computer system. The battery is electrically connected to the power supply end through the first switching element. The super capacitor is electrically connected to the power supply end through the second switching element. The control unit is utilized for having the first switching element in the off state and the second switching element in the on state when system load of the computer system is higher than a maximum power of the adaptor.
