Electrical connector assembly

Abstract

This invention provides an electrical connector assembly, including an insulating housing and a terminal module fixed to the insulating housing. The insulating housing includes a main body and two locking portions disposed on both sides of the main body for locking the main body to a substrate. A receiving cavity is formed at the front end of the main body, extending longitudinally along the main body. The terminal module is disposed behind the receiving cavity, and includes a plurality of conductive terminals and a module housing for fixing the conductive terminals. The conductive terminals protrude forward into the receiving cavity and are arranged in two rows vertically. A stop portion extends laterally from the middle of the receiving cavity of the main body, with its two ends connected to the side walls of the receiving cavity. The stop portion is located between the two rows of conductive terminals, wherein the stop portion protrudes forward relative to the module housing of the terminal module, thereby correspondingly stopping a mating plate inserted into the receiving cavity. The above-described electrical connector assembly can maintain a stable connection of the terminal module and ensure normal operation of the electrical connector assembly.
