Abstract

A connector includes a terminal module, a ground conductor, and a shielding assembly. The terminal module includes an insulating terminal base and a plurality of signal terminal pairs disposed on the insulating terminal base. The ground conductor is disposed at the front of the insulating terminal base of the terminal module and has a plurality of channels formed through the front and back and respectively corresponding to the plurality of signal terminal pairs. The shielding assembly is disposed on the ground conductor and includes a plurality of shielding structures corresponding to the plurality of signal terminal pairs. Each shielding structure includes a base plate and two side plates disposed at the front of the ground conductor, and a mating groove defined by the base plate and the two side plates. The mating groove is located in front of and communicates with the corresponding channel. Each signal terminal pair passes forward through the corresponding channel without contacting the ground conductor to extend into the mating groove. Each side plate has a grounding spring protruding toward the mating groove.
