Electrical connector

Abstract

An electrical connector includes an insulating housing, plural terminals and a first grounding member. The insulating housing includes a mating slot and two side walls. The plural terminals include a row of first terminals and a row of second terminals. Each terminal has a fixed portion, an elastic portion, a contacting portion and a tail portion. The first terminals include plural pairs of first signal terminals and first grounding terminals. The first grounding member is arranged at an outer side of the first terminals away from the second terminals. The first grounding member includes plural first shielding portions extending vertically and shielding at an outer side of corresponding pairs of first signal terminals, and grounding portions located at an outer side of the first grounding terminals and contacting with corresponding first grounding terminals. The first shielding portions extend upwards and exceed upper ends of the first signal terminals, and bulge outwards near the contacting portions of the first signal terminals to form a bulging portion. With a better shielding of first signal terminals by the first shielding portions, the electrical connector has an improved high frequency performance.
