Abstract

This invention provides a piezoelectric element that meets the requirements of miniaturization and improved reliability while also being suitable for various applications and exhibiting excellent stability. The invention comprises: a package including a base plate that is rectangular in shape when viewed from above; a wall portion disposed along the edge of the base plate and whose height increases in a stepped manner towards the outer edge of the base plate; a first mounting terminal disposed on the upper surface of the base plate; a second mounting terminal and a third mounting terminal disposed on the upper surface of the wall portion at different heights; a thermistor mounted on the first mounting terminal; a first piezoelectric vibrating sheet mounted on the second mounting terminal and being rectangular in shape when viewed from above; and a second piezoelectric vibrating sheet mounted on the third mounting terminal, being rectangular in shape when viewed from above, and having a greater thickness than the first piezoelectric vibrating sheet.
