Abstract
The timing device 1 includes: a piezoelectric layer 11 made of a piezoelectric material; a support substrate 13 disposed beneath the piezoelectric layer 11 along its outer edge; and an electrode 15 disposed on the piezoelectric layer 11. For example, the electrode 15 is disposed between the support substrate 13 along the main surface of the piezoelectric layer 11. This provides a timing device with more uniform film thickness even when the piezoelectric material is thinned.
