Abstract

A communication method and apparatus are disclosed, relating to the field of communications technologies, and capable of implementing a unified ICF design for different communication scenarios. The method includes: a first device generating a buffer status report polling BSRP trigger frame and sending the BSRP trigger frame to a second device. The BSRP trigger frame includes a first field, where the first field is used to indicate a function of the BSRP trigger frame, or the first field is used to indicate a type of an acknowledgment frame of the BSRP trigger frame.
