Communications method and apparatus

Abstract

A communication method and apparatus are provided to help improve the accuracy of resource scheduling and reduce the data transmission delay of buffered data. The method includes: when a DSR is triggered, a terminal counts, into a data volume corresponding to a reporting threshold corresponding to the DSR, a data volume of data in the buffered data that would cause interference to the transmission of urgent data; and indicates, to a network device by using first information, the data volume corresponding to the reporting threshold corresponding to the DSR, so that the network device can additionally schedule, for the terminal during the process of scheduling resources for the terminal based on the first information, resources for transmitting data besides urgent data. This helps reduce the transmission interference on the urgent data, improves the data transmission efficiency of the urgent data, and reduces the data transmission delay.
