Computer system and releasable fan module

Abstract

A releasable fan module assembly for a computer system is disclosed. The computer system includes a chassis having a bottom panel and side walls. A top cover is joined to the side walls to cover the chassis. A releasable fan module is located on the bottom panel in proximity to one edge of the top cover. The releasable fan module includes a handle that may be positioned between a retracted position and an extended position to allow a user to remove the releasable fan module from the chassis. The assembly includes a latch mechanism on the edge of the top cover. The latch mechanism engages the handle to keep the handle in the retracted position.
