Abstract

A solar cell is described. The solar cell comprises a substrate having a back surface; a first charge-carrier collector arranged on the back surface of the substrate, the first charge carrier collector comprising a back surface; and a first transparent-conductive-oxide structure arranged on the back surface of the first charge-carrier collector. The first transparent-conductive-oxide structure comprises: a first transparent-conductive-oxide layer; a second transparent-conductive-oxide layer interposed between the first transparent-conductive-oxide layer and the first charge-carrier collector; and a third transparent-conductive-oxide layer interposed between the second transparent-conductive-oxide layer and the first charge-carrier collector. The second transparent-conductive-oxide layer is substantially free of indium. A method of manufacturing such a solar cell, and a solar module comprising such a solar cell, are also described.
